Monster Cars: What 4?
January 23rd 2008 23:32
Gee, your a good bloke Kings! to which he replied:
"The most excruciating and lethal things in modern life are the things we seem to not be able to do anything about" was a statement made to me without much thought, it seems. As this statement was made in reference to the array of monster 'SUV' style "truck like" every day vehicles which have taken us back to the excesses of the grand fintails etc. of the sixties!
Why should this blatant and selfish purchasing behaviour be accepted in this day and age, MONEY and SEX are the culprits, along with a dose of inadequacy!
Money: There are Tax breaks (Australia) and the need to spend big for further tax breaks in a multitude of other areas, what a Palaba! (and I don't even know what that is!)
Sex: Women who think thay are making a safe choice and men who want to look at the legs of the women in the cars next to them in traffic! (Yes, go on, deny it!)
To wrap the opening line and this rave, we can do lots to reduce our footprint and make for a more sensible and sustainable motoring environment.
I love motoring as I love to see friends and Family and doing good things, as we all hope to
but what makes us get up in the morning, to make ends meet or the idea of a good day with as small a footprint as possible on our world!
My two cents worth!
Next-- Lamborghini or Aston: What can fit best in my garage....!
